Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

The Information We Collect:

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the CarDana website. On our donation form, you may begin the donation process. The types of personal information collected on this site are: Name, address, phone number, email address and information about the item you wish to donate.

Information on the charity or organization to receive your donation’s net proceeds.

On certain pages you may also contact us directly via e-mail, in which case we will collect your: Name, E-Mail address, and any other information you wish to provide in your e-mail correspondence.

Account Profile Page

On the account profile page we may also request information regarding your intention to claim your deduction for tax purposes. In which case we may request your: Social Security Number (as required by IRS regulations should you intend to claim your donation as a tax deduction and should its sale amount exceed $500).

We may also need information regarding your donated item(s), in which case we may request: Photos of your donated item, copies of your title and/or registration documents and other proof of ownership, if applicable.

The Way We Use Information:

We use the information you provide about yourself when requesting to donate your item only to complete the donation process. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete the donation and, in some cases, when requested by the supported charity.

If you provide information about someone else; i.e. a relative, mechanic, etc., when making a donation, we use this information to facilitate the donation of your item(s) and in some cases with the charity or organization benefitting from your donation. When selecting to allow another charity or organization to share in your donation, we may provide your information to that charity or organization. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete your donation.

We use return email addresses to answer the emails we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and to share with affiliates. For example, we may tell an affiliate that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our donation form, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Our Commitment To Children’s Privacy:

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under the age of 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract the attention of, or solicit to, anyone under the age of 13.

How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information:

You can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain through the account profile section of our website. Or you can email or mail us a written request. We use this procedure to better safeguard your information.

You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error.

To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
